When and Where Is IMAT 2026?
The countdown to IMAT 2026 is officially on. This year's exam will take place on September 29th at 13:30 (Italian time), held simultaneously across 50 IMAT 2026 Centers in 44 cities worldwide — making it one of the most accessible entry points into Italian medical education for international students.
Registration opened on August 26th at 12:20 and closed on September 9th at 3:00 PM (GMT+2), meaning the pool of candidates for this year's cycle is now locked in. If you registered in time, your next milestone is the exam itself.
Here's the format: candidates will have 100 minutes to answer 60 questions, testing everything from logical reasoning and general knowledge to biology, chemistry, physics, and math. Every minute counts — with less than two minutes per question on average, time management will be just as decisive as content knowledge.
Knowing your exact test center — and confirming it before exam day — matters just as much as your content prep. Missing your assigned center's guidance email is one of the most avoidable mistakes a candidate can make.
How Many Seats Are Available in 2026?
With thousands of applicants competing for a limited number of places, the margin between admission and disappointment often comes down to a handful of points. Here's what's on the table this year:

abroad 1,362

International Test Centers
IMAT 2026 Centers span 50 locations across 44 cities worldwide, so most candidates won't need to travel to Italy to take the exam. The exam starts at 13:30 Italian time everywhere, but that translates to a different local clock time depending on where you are. Check-in opens 2 hours before the test time at every international center — arrive by then, not just by the exam start. Tap a region to filter the list below.

Important
The addresses and venues listed above are the ones currently published for IMAT 2026, but test centers can and sometimes do change the exact address closer to the exam date. Your test center will email you 1–2 days before the exam with final confirmation of the address, entry procedure, and candidate guidance for your specific location — treat that email as the authoritative source, not the address you see here or anywhere else in advance. Read it carefully and follow its instructions, since arrival times, ID requirements, and check-in procedures can vary by center. Double-check your local start time above so there's no confusion on the day, and make sure you're at your confirmed center well ahead of it.
