The ERSU Cagliari DSU scholarship 2026/2027 — officially the "Bando unico di concorso per l'attribuzione di borse di studio e di posti alloggio" — is the main financial aid package for students enrolled at the Università degli Studi di Cagliari, together with the Pontificia Facoltà Teologica della Sardegna, the Istituto Superiore di Scienze Religiose (sede di Cagliari), the Conservatorio Statale di Musica di Cagliari, and the Scuola Superiore per Mediatori Linguistici "Verbum."
ERSU Cagliari bandisce the concorso in application of D. Lgs. n. 68/2012, the DPCM 9 aprile 2001, Decreto MUR n. 1320/2021, the Decreti Direttoriali del MUR n. 175 e 176 del 10 febbraio 2026, and the deliberazione della Giunta Regionale n. 32/31 del 24 giugno 2026, co-financed by the PR Sardegna FSE+ 2021-2027, the Fondo Integrativo Statale and Regione Sardegna's own resources. You can participate in the concorso if you are enrolled — or intend to enrol — for A.A. 2026/27 in one of the course types below at a Cagliari institution, limitatamente al conseguimento del primo titolo per ciascun livello di studio. Medicine & Dentistry: Semestre Filtro Students
Students enrolled in the semestre filtro (D. Lgs. 5 maggio 2025, n. 71) for Medicine and Surgery (LM-41) or Dentistry and Prosthodontics (LM-46), in Italian, at the Università degli Studi di Cagliari, with the status of "studentessa e studente contemporaneamente iscritti," can apply for the Borsa di Studio and posto alloggio within the same ordinary deadline (28 August 2026) as every other applicant, and can access subsidised housing and meal service during the semester itself, provided at least 51% of teaching is delivered in presence. Their ranking position shows "IDONEO con esito SOSPESO — Semestre filtro" until they finalise enrolment in the second semester.

Dates for "Graduatoria benefici secondo semestre" (semestre filtro students admitted to Cagliari after a national ranking published by the MUR) differ: provisional rankings on 26 March 2027, istanze di riesame by 1 April 2027, definitive rankings by 16 April 2027.
ERSU Cagliari Scholarship 2026/2027 Amounts: How Much Can You Get?
The ERSU Cagliari DSU scholarship amount depends on your ISEE value and your housing status (in sede, pendolare, or fuori sede/indipendente). The base figures below (Art. 20, D.M. n. 1320/2021, Decreto Direttoriale MUR n. 181/2025, DGR 32/31 del 24 giugno 2026) apply to full-time, in-corso students.

The full cash amount is paid to students whose ISEE is at or below €18,893.25 (two-thirds of the maximum threshold); above that, the cash portion is progressively reduced down to half of the standard amount. The fuori sede and pendolare figures already include the value of the housing and/or meal service ERSU provides directly.

Unlike some other Italian regions, ERSU Cagliari's bando explicitly exempts both beneficiaries and idonei (students eligible but not funded due to insufficient resources) present in the Borsa di Studio rankings from the tassa regionale per il diritto allo studio universitario, the tassa di iscrizione, and university contributions. Only the imposta di bollo for enrolment remains payable. ERSU sends the ranking data directly to the Università degli Studi di Cagliari, the other institutes, and the Agenzia Sarda Entrate to apply the exemption automatically.
In Sede, Pendolare, or Fuori Sede?
Your housing classification drives most of the gap in your final scholarship amount — roughly €4,280 per year separates "in sede" from "fuori sede" at the base rate. The comuni list below applies to students at the Cagliari sede; separate lists exist for the Nuoro, Oristano and Olbia sedi staccate, and for the interateneo Ingegneria Biomedica course with the University of Pavia.

info Declare Your Intention When You Apply
To be recognised as fuori sede, you must declare — at the moment of applying online — your intention to take onerous accommodation near the university, either through an ERSU posto alloggio or a private rental contract of at least 10 months (5 months for last-semester winners), covering the period between 1 September 2026 and 30 September 2027. Students who do not express this intention are automatically assigned "pendolare" status and excluded from the posto alloggio ranking.
Beneficiaries with fuori sede status who are not assigned a posto alloggio must confirm their status online between 10 November 2026 and 31 March 2027, attaching the registered rental contract, or they will default to pendolare status with a recalculated amount.
International students whose family does not reside in Italy are always classified fuori sede, regardless of their residence in Italy.
ISEE Requirements for ERSU Cagliari 2026/2027
To be considered in possession of the economic requirement, your ISEE 2026 must not exceed €28,339.88, and your ISPE must not exceed €61,608.48. Both limits must be respected jointly. Since DSU declarations filed in 2025 expired on 31 December 2025, every applicant needs a fresh, valid ISEE attestation for the diritto allo studio universitario, obtained via a CAF or online at www.inps.it, by 28 August 2026, 13:00.
If you haven't yet received your ISEE attestation when you apply, you can still indicate the DSU submission receipt details on the online form; ERSU will check the INPS database up to 8 September 2026 for the provisional ranking.
tips_and_updates Independent Student Status
To be assessed on your own income rather than your family's, you need both: residence outside your family home for at least two years, in accommodation not owned by a family member, and declared employment income of at least €9,000/year for at least two years. Students from particularly poor countries (per D.M. n. 176 del 24 febbraio 2026) can instead present a certification from the Italian diplomatic representation confirming they don't belong to a notoriously high-income family, in which case both ISEE and ISPE are set to zero.
Academic Credit (CFU) Requirements
First-Year Students
Matricole face a merit requirement valutato ex post — checked only when the second installment is due, not at the moment of application. There are two checkpoints:

Note: students with disability, apolidi, rifugiati politici, students with young children, detainees and national-level athletes are exempt from these first-year merit criteria entirely — no revoca applies to them.
Upper-Year Students
Students beyond the first year must have already earned, by 10 August 2026, the CFU set out in the bando's general table (e.g. 25 CFU for year 2 of a laurea triennale, 80 for year 3, rising to 300 for the sixth year of a six-year laurea magistrale a ciclo unico). A limited "bonus" credit system — 5 CFU for year 2, 12 for year 3 (if unused), 15 for later years (if unused) — can bridge small shortfalls, but bonus credits are never cumulable across years and are never counted toward the first-year checkpoints.
Ranking for upper-year students combines the ratio of CFU maturati to CFU required, then the weighted average grade, then ISEE, then age, in that order of priority.

ERSU Cagliari manages 478 posti alloggio across seven residences in Cagliari and one in Olbia, plus free or subsidised meals for beneficiaries.

apartment College Sant'Efisio — A Merit College
The College Sant'Efisio is a collegio di merito: residents sign a Patto Educativo and complete 70 hours/year of formative activities (25 hours for laurea magistrale students or those beyond the third year of an LCU course), plus twice-yearly progress reviews. In exchange, residents get a private climate-controlled room, breakfast, 10 meals/month, monthly cleaning, common study and recreation areas, and a gym.
Retta alloggio (Art. 28) for students with a posto alloggio: first ISEE band (≤€18,893.25) pays €81–88/month for a singola or €64–70/month for a doppia depending on the residence; second band (up to €28,339.88) pays €128–140/month or €95–103/month. A €165 cauzione (deposit) is required for all residents, including borsisti.
ERSU Cagliari Scholarship 2026/2027: Payment Schedule
Once you appear in the graduatoria definitiva, ERSU pays your scholarship by bank transfer to an IBAN registered in your name. Payment schedules differ by year of course.
Matricole (Laurea / LCU)
