EDISU uses your registered residence as of 12 November 2026 to determine your status. Only students who qualify as fuori sede can request a housing place; those who don't autocertify a paid lease or accommodation near their course venue are automatically paid at the pendolare rate instead of the fuori sede rate. Part-time first-year students need only 11 credits instead of 20. Students with disabilities are exempt from this first-year merit rule entirely.
Upper-Year Students — Course-Specific Credit Tables
Unlike some regions, EDISU Piemonte publishes a separate minimum credit threshold for every individual degree course at every university (hundreds of entries across Annexes A1, A2, B, C and C1), rather than one flat table per degree level. As a general guide, most bachelor's degrees require roughly:

Students confirming benefits by merit (higher achievers repeating for a second year) face a slightly higher bar than students filing a "Domanda Standard," but cannot use bonus credits.
Automatic Bonus Credits
If you fall short of the threshold on a Domanda Standard, EDISU automatically applies a credit "bonus," usable once across your entire university career:

Bonus credits apply automatically for a Domanda Standard — you don't need to request them, and they cannot be used to reach the higher "Conferma Benefici per Merito" thresholds or the first-year merit deadlines. Part-time students have a separate, lower bonus scale (3/6/9 credits).
EDISU Piemonte Scholarship 2026/27: Housing & Meals
Fuori sede students can apply for one of 3,100 housing places across Piedmont: 2,706 in Turin and its surrounding area (Beinasco, Grugliasco, Orbassano, Nichelino/Stupinigi, Moncalieri), 93 in Alessandria, 23 in Cuneo, 167 in Novara, 93 in Vercelli, 11 in Biella, and 7 in Asti.
If you're placed in an EDISU residence, you receive the housing place free of charge, but your cash scholarship is reduced to the "with housing" amount shown in the table above (e.g. €5,397 instead of €8,097 for a fuori sede student in the lowest ISEE bracket) — the value of the free housing (€2,700/year) makes up the difference. A refundable deposit of €262.50 applies when moving in.
Free Meals
All scholarship winners can eat at EDISU canteens or affiliated restaurants at the subsidized "fascia 1" rate of just €3.00 per full meal — this applies to every winner regardless of residency status, on top of the cash scholarship.
EDISU Piemonte Scholarship 2026/27: Graduation Prize (Premio di Laurea)
A feature unique to EDISU Piemonte: students who won the scholarship in 2025/26 and graduated on time — within the extraordinary session of that academic year — can apply for a graduation prize, subject to availability of funds after all standard scholarships have been assigned.
